Millenium 2027, European Year of the Normans
The year 2027 will mark the thousand-year anniversary of the birth of William the Conqueror.
Discover the historical and cultural links that unite Normandy and the Channel Islands.
The five islands of Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, Herm and Lihou have created a year‑round events programme for 2027, which includes guided walking trails, history and art exhibitions, conferences and traditional craft fairs. In addition to this programme, the islands will also host a number of established festivals, including medieval, walking, literary and music festivals, all of which will embrace a distinctive Norman influence for the 2027 season.
