What if Guernsey’s landmarks were made by a giant with very big feet—and even bigger mishaps?

Giant’s Bum Bay began with a family tale at Chouet Beach, where the author, Yasmin Atkinson, told her children that the double curvature was left by a giant who had sat down for a rest. From that spark of imagination came Jean-Pierre, a cheerful giant from Normandy, who arrives in Guernsey with his bucket and spade and accidentally creates the island’s famous landmarks on his day's outing.

While researching the connection to Normandy, a delightful discovery added to the fun—Normandy already has its own legendary giant, Gargantua, known for dropping crumbs from his pockets that became islands! With giants on both shores, the adventure practically wrote itself, linking Normandy and Guernsey in one whimsical tale.

Follow the giants day out to visit the various sites and collect stamps along the way!
