The Silbe Nature Reserve is an all-year haven for birds and flowers in the beautiful parish of St Peters.

Owned and managed by La Société Guernésiaise, the local wildlife trust, the reserve includes a deciduous woodland, wet meadow, scrub and bracken, and rough semi-improved grassland.

There are paths running through the picturesque wooded valley, to allow visitors to enjoy the wildlife up close. The Reserve is calm and peaceful, and if you keep quiet whilst exploring the paths, there are plenty of birds, animals and insects to discover.

To see the Reserve at its best, plan for your visit for between mid-May and mid-June, when an array of colourful flowers will have bloomed.

Few people know about this hidden gem, as it is tucked away in a quiet sheltered valley - but this little piece of nature is definitely a treat to see.
