At the heart of The Duke, The Dax is a relaxed all-day restaurant serving fresh, flavour-led seasonal dishes and generous plates in a warm and welcoming setting.
Expect thoughtful cooking alongside classic drinks, good wine and low-alcohol options, with a mix of tables and comfortable seating creating a space that works just as well for a relaxed lunch as dinner and drinks.
Elsewhere at The Duke, The Lobby is the perfect spot for coffee, light dishes and catching up, while The Terrace overlooks Candie Gardens and comes into its own on brighter days.
From morning coffee and leisurely lunches to dinner at The Dax and cocktails into the evening, The Duke offers plenty of reasons to settle in and stay a while.
Opening hours
Open daily for hearty breakfasts, mid-morning coffees, relaxed lunches and afternoon teas, as well as evening meals.
- Breakfast: Monday to Saturday: 7 to 10am, Sunday and bank holidays: 7.30 to 10am
- Lunch: Monday to Saturday: 12 to 2pm, Sunday: 12pm to 2.30pm
- Afternoon Tea: Monday to Saturday: 12 to 5pm, Sunday: 2.30 to 5pm
- Dinner: Everyday: 6.30 to 9.30pm, Pre-theatre: 5.30pm to 9pm
- Bar: Open daily, last food orders at 9.30pm
