2. Save space in your case…

All Guernsey Self-Catering properties are fully equipped (see the inventory on their website for more information) and have food shops nearby, selling everything you need for your stay.

For your convenience, and to save hassle when you arrive (or space in your case!), Guernsey Self-Catering provide:

  • A dish cloth, sponge scourer, washing up liquid, and tea towels
  • Bin bags
  • Plastic containers (perfect for a picnic!)
  • Toilet disinfectant and liquid cleaner
  • A small guest soap in each bathroom

Bedding and bath towels are also provided, and there are laundry facilities at every site (except for La Bellieuse, but guests are welcome to walk across the lane to Le Douit). Pool towels are available to rent for just £5 for the duration of their stay - or guests can bring their own.

Each site has free parking, but if you’re bringing your own car, you will need to purchase a parking clock (available from the office or housekeeper), in order to park in public parking spaces around the island.

3. Enjoy island adventures like a local

One of the main advantages of self-catering accommodation is the freedom to come and go, and enjoy your holiday at your own pace.

For keen adventurers as well as more relaxed sightseers, all of Guernsey Self-Catering’s properties are perfectly placed to help you explore - so why not make a day of it and pack a picnic? Better yet, a hedge-veg picnic.

Hedge veg is one of the island's best-loved traditions, with stalls all over the island, offering everything from locally grown fruit and vegetables, as well as jams, chutneys, and freshly baked bread and sweet treats.

Make the most of your self-catering home-from-home to pop together something fresh and delicious, before heading down to one of the island’s golden beaches or south coast cliff paths, to enjoy a real taste of island life.

4. Make the most of home comforts for a stress-free holiday

Whether you’re staying for a short break or a long summer holiday, Guernsey Self-Catering apartments and cottages feel like home, with more space to unpack and spread out and, if you’re looking for a cosy night-in, plenty of entertainment – including a DVD and book library, and complimentary WIFI. There is also central heating for the winter months, and electric fires for your comfort all year round.

There is no formal check-in process, so as soon as you arrive, you can head straight to your accommodation (from 2pm) and the door will be unlocked. Inside you will find a complimentary welcome pack, including fresh flowers, a loaf of Guernsey Gâche, Guernsey butter and milk, plus tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar.

In addition, you can purchase a full English breakfast hamper, which will be delivered to your apartment before you arrive.
