Sark in Summer with Naturetrek

Enjoy the enviable weightlessness of life on Sark, as we step away from the rigours of modern-day life and embark on a relaxed exploration of this simply wonderful Channel Isle. Sark has over 40 miles of untouched coastline for us to enjoy, and our chartered boat trip will circumnavigate the island, giving us an excellent perspective of the island and of the marine-life; Puffin, Razorbill, Common Guillemot, Gannet, and perhaps a pod of Bottlenose Dolphin too.

On picturesque Sark there are walking trails which cover almost the whole island with stunning vistas at every turn and beautiful bays always within a stone’s throw. At the RAMSAR-listed Gouliot Headland, we’ll see swathes of wildflowers covering much of the headland, notably a gorgeous carpet of primroses set against a background of the beautiful rich blue sea. We can expect to enjoy more than a dozen species of butterfly including such highlights as Silver-studded Blue, Dark Green Fritillary and the iridescent Green Hairstreak, and we'll enjoy these both in the wildflower areas and in the wonderful ornamental gardens, alongside some intricate day-flying moths. The hedgerows benefit from traditional managements methods and will produce interesting passerines, invertebrates and an interesting assortment of flora.

At the end of each day, we shall enjoy dinners created largely using ‘Sark local’ sourced ingredients, much of the produce coming from within a 5-mile radius of the restaurant, before the final delight of the day... Sark's incredible night sky!
