This lovely gentle short walk takes in a stretch of coastline that encompasses a rare wetland habitat, Guernsey's only remaining quarry and the ubiquitous loop-holed tower. Beyond Port Soif and its popular kiosk, lies a nature conservation area and vestiges of ancient settlements.
The nearest land across the water from this point is America and the sea can be rough during the winter months. Portinfer reflects this in its name - 'port' meaning 'harbour' in the Breton language and 'infer' signifying 'hell' in French. At the end of this walk, you come across Rousse headland where the remains of two ancient burial sites have been found. The coastline is dotted with charming kiosks and cafes that offer local specialities that are the perfect pick-me-up after a long walk.
