Rosso

As many of you will know, Rosso's big brother Red Grill House and Cocktail Bar, just next door has been producing great steaks, wine and cocktails for the past three years. With Rosso it was time for the team to learn about something new. For the last 18 months they have visited and worked in Turin, Naples, Sicily and California to learn everything they could about Pizza. A tough job, but some lucky person had to do it…

Cooking Pizza, apparently, is easy. Cooking really good Pizza – extremely difficult.

A good place to start is using only the best ingredients. From the tomatoes to the flour, the Buffalo Mozzarella to the cured pig’s cheek topping, only the finest, freshest ingredients have made it into the kitchen at Rosso. All of the Pizzas are freshly made, cooked in the hand-made stone oven - the only one in Gunersey - using gas and wood at over 350 degrees. This is how the perfect crust is created. 

There is also a beautiful large wooden bar at Rosso, which makes sense because their bartenders have been mixing some of the finest drinks on the Island for over 10 years. The cocktail list features some of Red fans’ favourites as well as a twist on the famous ‘crack baby’ with the new ‘smash baby’. And of course there is a very drinkable wine list, featuring a handpicked selection of Californian & Italian wines, perfect for matching with Pizza. 

Every day their  lunch menu will feature new lunchtime specials, chalked up on the blackboard keeping it as fresh and seasonal as possible. There will always be a hot filled Pizza wrap + any side dish for £9.95, and a meat pasta of the week for £12.95.
