The 49th BWCI Guernsey International Chess Festival

The 49th edition of the BWCI Guernsey International Chess Festival brings together players from around the globe for a celebration of strategy, skill, and sportsmanship.

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a passionate chess enthusiast, this historic festival offers a welcoming and competitive atmosphere.

Festival Highlights:

• Two FIDE-rated classical tournaments: Open & Challenger sections
• FIDE-rated Blitz Tournament: Saturday 18 October
• Generous prize funds (plus Chessable prizes)
• Prizegiving Dinner: Saturday 25 October

Tournament Format:

• One classical round per day
• Time control: 40 moves in 100 minutes, then all remaining moves in 40 minutes, with a 30-second increment from move one
