Step into a truly wild and beautiful nature reserve at the Bridget Ozanne Orchid Fields, managed by La Société Guernesiaise. These aren’t formal gardens, they are traditional wet-meadow fields, carefully maintained to support a rich diversity of orchids, wildflowers, and wildlife.

What You’ll See:

Four species of orchids: Common Spotted-orchid, Heath Spotted-orchid, Southern Marsh-orchid, and the rare Loose-flowered orchid.
Other wildflowers: Bright Yellow Flag Iris, delicate Ragged-robin, sweetly scented Water Mint, and Cuckooflower, all attracting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
Invertebrates: Watch for the Common Blue butterfly, Five-spot Burnet moth, and other fascinating insects.

Visitor Information:

Paths are cut around the fields, but the ground can be marshy and uneven. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
Please stay on the paths to protect the delicate plants.

Come and experience the sight, scent, and buzz of a wild orchid meadow, a peaceful haven for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone curious about Guernsey’s wildlife.
