Richard Graham: At the Emperor’s Pleasure - A True Love Story Set in the Far East at War

The book follows a young couple, Christopher and ‘Topsy’ Man, through the savage battle for Hong Kong and four years of inhumane captivity under the Japanese.
She was an intern in Hong Kong, he was a forced labourer in Japan, having survived a little-known WWII atrocity, the sinking of the Lisbon Maru.
The book is a tribute to the 828 victims of that tragedy.
