Fort Hommet Headland Open Day

Festung Guernsey’s flagship event, the Fort Hommet Headland Open Day will provide access to several bunkers over the headland, including the personnel shelter and Le Galloudec Shrine (entry to both by donation), as well as the recently excavated anti-tank garage.

The open day will also include the official opening of the M19 automatic mortar bunker, with experts from Festung Guernsey on-hand to explain the use of the bunkers and the extensive restoration work that has recently been completed. Entry will be by donation.

The 10.5cm restored casemate will also be open, courtesy of the German Occupation Museum (a small entry charge will apply).

A host of family-friendly activities will also be taking place throughout the afternoon. More details coming soon!
