Amadeus the Chamber Choir from Liverpool

Amadeus started in 2000, and is formed of a group of like-minded singers - everyone sings for enjoyment and pleasure. Drawn from around the North-West of England, the choir is based in Formby, north of the city of Liverpool. Their conductor, David Holroyd, was Assistant Organist at Chester Cathedral, before teaching for 33 years at Merchant Taylors’, Crosby (Liverpool). As well as Amadeus, he conducts Birkenhead Choral Society, Formby Choral Society and is Organist at St Peter’s Church in Formby. The choir has sung around the UK in many major Cathedrals, as well as around Europe in Notre-Dame Paris, in Venice, Granada and even St Peter’s in Rome - to name but a few. They have sung in Guernsey before. In 2011 they came over for the wedding of their conductor’s daughter at St Matthew’s Church, Cobo. Over the years they have raised in excess of £100,000 for various charities, and are delighted to return to Guernsey for a very exciting concert in aid of Headway Guernsey.
