A highlight for many visitors is the National Trust of Guernsey Costume Collection. As the Channel Islands’ only permanent exhibition dedicated to historic dress and textiles, it offers a rare opportunity to explore garments and accessories that reflect changing fashions, social customs and craftsmanship across generations.
New for 2026, the Museum presents Inside Out, opening on 31 March 2026. This fascinating exhibition turns Victorian garments literally inside out, revealing the hidden structures, hand-sewn techniques and ingenious construction methods used by skilled dressmakers of the period. From discreet bustle ties to carefully shaped seams, Inside Out offers a rarely seen insight into the artistry behind 19th-century fashion.
Visitors can also enjoy the final year of From Cobblestones to Catwalks, celebrating 1970s fashion through a remarkable personal collection preserved for decades and rediscovered as a time capsule of the era.
For the 2026 season, the Folk and Costume Museum offers an inspiring blend of heritage, fashion and creativity in one of Guernsey’s most attractive parkland settings.
