The only authentic way to knit a guernsey, is “on the round” (seamlessly) by hand with knitting needles. Today, all manufacturers of guernseys make they guernseys on automated knitting machinery, so the finished garment is the most important thing, and at Guernsey guernseys, we strive to ensure that my garments are as close to the original hand knits, as we can, by returning the features from the original handknits

It must be made from 100% pure new British Worsted Wool, yarns vary slightly and can be made harder or softer, the harder the yarn, the longer the garment will last, the softer the yarn the longevity the garment may have. Which is why I have chosen a middle ground to straddle comfort and durability. Our yarn is spun to our specifications and dyed to our colours which are inspired by the island.
