Toby and Georgia have travelled the world together – but for them, there was nowhere like Guernsey’s south coast cliffs for their outdoor, festival-style wedding.

‘Clifftop tunes, beautiful views, and one big party’ was the order of the day for Toby and Georgia’s wedding in August 2024.
To keep things relaxed – and to make the most of the beautiful venue and coastal views – everything took place at Smithfield Farm, including their ceremony, photoshoot, dinner and dancing.

As a result of the wedding’s outdoor nature, they needed a variety of suppliers. Although they had ‘lots of options to fulfil their wants and needs’, their words of advice are still to ‘get ahead and book things early to avoid disappointment’. For them, this meant starting to organise their wedding soon after they got engaged in December 2022, giving them 18 months’ planning time.
Their marquee, power generators and toilets were all seamlessly provided by Regency Events, while most of their decorations and furniture were courtesy of Bonita Events, who have a range of tables, chairs, lights, bars and flooring options to suit a variety of aesthetics.

For Toby and Georgia, their videographer and photographer were particularly important – especially because Toby is a photographer himself. The couple say they couldn’t recommend photographer Lucy Dennis enough. Originally from Guernsey but now based in Yorkshire, it was easy for Lucy to travel to and from Guernsey thanks to the island’s convenient air and sea links.
For their all-important wedding video, they found Element Films, headed up by Gaz Papworth: an experienced filmmaker with an evident love for his craft. The result is high-end and meticulously crafted, with a romantic, movie-like feel. Toby and Georgia have been able to share the film with friends and family and can ‘re-live the day’ whenever they like, both with a huge smile on their face.
Neither wanted a formal sit-down meal, but a hearty supply of food and drink was high on the couples’ list to keep everyone happy and partying. They opted for ‘Cooked by James Ferguson’ to supply a hog roast and a whole range of side dishes, whilst Ben’s Bar (who the couple say ‘kept up well!’) provided a full bar service.
Lastly – and just as importantly for a couple who wanted ‘one big party’ – Toby and Georgia booked the ‘outstanding’ ‘Last of the Light Brigade’ as their band, as well as several DJs. James Queripel took the main shift, keeping the clifftop tunes going well into the night.
The couple reflect on their wedding as the best day of their lives, ‘perfect from start to finish’. ‘We were so lucky to do it in such a beautiful location,’ Toby says, ‘and we wouldn’t change a thing.’
