Where to Practice Yoga on The Islands of Guernsey

Guernsey is a haven for those looking to relax and reconnect with nature. And the perfect place to reconnect with your mind and body too.

Yoga is the perfect practice for travelling as you don’t require any equipment or special clothing to be able to do it. Yoga retreats are also becoming more and more popular, so there are many ways to enjoy a wellness break on The Islands of Guernsey. When visiting our Islands, many hotels offer yoga classes in their gym or can advise of local classes nearby. You can even come and take part in one of the many yoga retreats available throughout the year.

Here are your options for yoga on the Islands of Guernsey:

Many of the hotels have yoga classes taught by local teachers. St Pierre Park Hotel has a gym and spa that offers yoga classes. The OGH also has a class timetable in their Revolution health suite that includes yoga. Both have spas to pop into afterwards and continue your relaxing experience. Fermain Valley Hotel have even recently completed a beautifully tranquil yoga house to practice in.

With daily classes of varying levels, they are welcoming to all. The studio is along the seafront at  - perfect for popping in before heading for a coffee in a nearby cafe.

At Hot Yoga Guernsey, all levels of experience are welcome to come and discover the benefits of heat in yoga, which is said to improve postures, promote detox and avoid injury or strain as muscles are warmer. Practices take place in the parish of St Peter's, great for those staying out of town.

Take a flow in nature

If you are staying in self-catering accommodation in one of the parishes, yoga also pops up on community halls across the islands. Over the summer months, local instructors host early morning yoga sessions at various beachside locations, such as Jerbourg Point, Cobo Bay and Port Soif. For a small price, you can experience the warmth of the rising sun and the nourishing effects of an hour’s yoga. Most announce the classes as Facebook events, so make sure you check listings during your trip to the Islands, or visit the website of local teachers such as Katie from Yoga Elements and Emma from BeInspired.
