Great Family Activities in Guernsey

Guernsey is the perfect family-fun destination for summer.

We’ve listed some fantastic, family-friendly Guernsey activities below for inspiration.

Guernsey Surf School

Summer in Guernsey is an excellent opportunity to ride your first wave and learn to surf in the sunshine. With summer camps and one-off family lessons on offer as well as a bodyboarding club for 4-6 year olds, Guernsey Surf School offers something to suit everyone. With a strong focus on quality, safety and fun, why not experience our beautiful Vazon Bay in a different way with the family?

Outdoor Guernsey

Outdoor Guernsey offer Adventure Days during the school holidays for children aged 8-14 years. Running similarly to a school week, children are able to take part in activities such as coasteering, beach games, high ropes, paddleboarding and team games, to name just a few. If you’ve got younger children, Outdoor Guernsey also offer 2-hour long kayak explorations for children aged 4+ where you can explore the island coastline in a memorable and unique way.

The whole family can hire paddle boards or kayaks and explore our Island coastline together, or take a lesson with an experienced guide.

Island Rib Tours

For an exhilarating experience of Guernsey’s coastline and wildlife, jump on an island rib voyage, You’ll get to explore some impressive bays and caves and if you’re lucky you may even spot some dolphins in our waters.

Rockpooling

Thanks to our famous 33-foot tidal range, our unique rock pools are revealed twice a day for exploring and offer something different every time. Exploring them will open your eyes to the weird and wonderful world of sea critters, so grab a net and bucket and see what you can find.

Guernsey Donkey Derby and Charities Fair

Each year, Saumarez Park is invaded with Guernsey’s favourite donkeys for the Donkey Derby. The day is filled with donkey races, charity stalls and competitions and even the chance to ride a donkey.

The North, West & South Shows

Every year, the local horticultural societies around the island host traditional fayres and country shows in the form of the North, West and South Shows. Each show runs over 2 days and all offer something completely different. The South Show is the perfect opportunity to show off your best baked goods and prized produce, while the North and West Shows both offer fairground rides. Animal lovers will enjoy the cattle, pigs, goats and sheep at the West Show, while the North Show puts on a stunning display in the Battle of Flowers that is not to be missed.
