We are open for guests to stay on the land from Friday 4th May 218 until 31st October 2018.
We have three camping options, ensuring privacy and peace, each bespoke and sitting amongst nature:
Firstly, the Barefoot Forager Tipi – to welcome independent travellers and those on a budget, we’ve communal sleeping up to 4 people, in our traditional tipi. Bring your own bedding, sleeping on a mattress. Fully equipped cooking shelter.
Second is our Seashore Safari tent – with an emphasis on smaller groups or families, sleeping up to 4 people. All bedding provided, and very comfortable beds. Fully equipped cooking shelter.
Last of all (and worth waiting for) is The Woodsman Ger – our largest tent, with all the added extras. Our ger can sleep 2 for a special occasion, or up to 6 for larger groups or families. Private fully equipped cooking shelter.
WildGuernsey is run by Tara and D’Arcy, with our two young sons. We aim for a low-impact lifestyle which is simple and works with the natural cycles of the land and sea. We’d like to share this with you, along with our local knowledge of secluded picnic spots and bays, great family activities, where to buy local and get an authentic experience of Guernsey and the neighbouring Islands.
Our site is in one of the most peaceful corners of Guernsey, though only 20 minutes away from St Peter’s Port, the capital of the island. Close by is Nature’s swimming pool, the sea, a pebbles throw away, so there’s time for a dip before breakfast, or a jump off the slipway at high tide before a 3 minute walk back up a sunken path back to warm up and cook on a Fire, a fire bowl, or rocket stove. The high vantage point faces out west across the sea, with views from the south westerly point of the Hanois lighthouse, to the North westerly Lihou Island.
The facilities barn has 2 bathrooms, each with a toilet, hot water sink and shower (and one with a roll top bath for a soak). Here you’ll also find an area to wash dishes with hot water, a fridge and electric point for charging phones and lanterns. Lighting is with solar fairy lights and rechargeable lanterns…and the moon! The barn has electric lighting.
Shop…we don’t have one! However I’m happy to pick things up for you on my way to the land, for your arrival or during your stay (just ask). The closest shop is a 30 min walk up a hill, or 3 min in a car, via hedge vegetable and goats produce stalls. It’s best to pick up things on your way to your tent. We do have options for food baskets and vegetarian food.
