The Kiosk at L'Ancresse

You will find us on the beach, but tucked away in one of the most unspoilt corners of Guernsey, The Vale Common. At the Kiosk at L’Ancresse you can sit in or outside and enjoy the amazing view while enjoying warm local hospitality, and foods fresh from our Guernsey fishermen and the dairy. We serve locally caught crab and octopus and are renowned across the island for our famous Octopus Salad and Seafood Sandwiches. Our menu also includes homemade Guernsey cakes and, in the cooler months, traditional bean jar and soups and stews and the occasional Malay curry or whatever other hearty soul food the Kiosk Kaptain decides to cook up.

With the dolmens, loophole towers, and German fortifications of the Common all around us, and the wide sweep of L’Ancresse Bay (“The Anchorage” in Guernsey French) at our feet, you’ll find the perfect mix of history, scenery, and great food, plus an abundance of local knowledge from our local Krew and usually a chat with a curious Habitant (people who live in the Clos du Val and have special rights to use the Common).

Whether you’re after fresh catches from the local waters, or hearty stews or soups in the winter months or quality chips and a burger, washed down with a hot drink, soft drink or a glass of wine or a beer, we’ve got you covered — and we also welcome your four-legged friends. Open 9.30 to 17.00 Until end of September

Open 9.30 to 16.30 October to December

Closed Tuesday and Thursday from October to April unless we post otherwise.
