Surrounding a farmhouse dating back to 1565, the gardens have evolved from raised vegetable beds supplying the homestead—and later Stocks Hotel next door—into a highly productive and enchanting 4-acre space. Highlights include a large mandala-style permaculture area overflowing with vegetables and cutting flowers, tranquil ponds, sun-dappled lawns, herbaceous borders, woodland paths, sculptures, two glasshouses, a picturesque apple orchard, and the stunning Cedar Greenhouse where delicate plants thrive. In 2013, our unique Permaculture Garden was introduced, now providing an abundance of fresh produce and cut flowers for Le Grand Dixcart B&B and beyond.

Adding to the charm, the garden is home to a flock of happy chickens producing fresh eggs daily, and a thriving beehive. Our dedication to horticultural excellence was recognised in 2018 when we contributed to Sark’s winning entry in the Guernsey Britain in Bloom competition, earning our own Horticultural Excellence Award in 2018 and again in 2024. The gardens are also part of the prestigious National Garden Scheme (NGS).

Come and enjoy a wander through these colourful and inspiring gardens. With peaceful corners, interesting plants, and seasonal blooms, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing stroll or a bit of gardening inspiration. We provide tea, coffee, and homemade cakes, along with a self-guided information sheet so you can explore our organic ornamental permaculture gardens at your own pace.

Admission (including tea, coffee and cake): Adult: £6.00 Child: £3.00
