Candie Gardens trail: art, nature, and wellbeing
Discover the beauty and tranquillity of Candie Gardens, set against the backdrop of St. Peter Port’s historic late 19th-century pleasure gardens. Wander the restored Lower Gardens, explore winding paths, and enjoy panoramic views across the rooftops to the neighbouring islands. From rare Victorian flowerbeds to a wide variety of plants from around the world, there’s something to delight every nature lover.
Take part in the self-led wellbeing walking trail, created in collaboration with Guernsey Trees for Life, which guides you through the gardens while encouraging you to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the natural surroundings.
While you’re here, don’t miss “Lost in Nature”, Guernsey Museum’s latest art installation in the Brian White Gallery. Featuring nature-inspired artworks, a bespoke soundscape by local composer Flexagon, and a captivating video installation by Ross from SkyWave Media, the exhibition invites you to immerse yourself in the natural world through art, sound, and film.
The Gardens also feature historic landmarks, including statues of Queen Victoria and Victor Hugo, a restored greenhouse, and the nearby Priaulx Library, home to extensive local history collections.
