Spanning over 1,700 square metres, it stands as one of the finest examples of its kind in the British Isles. Carefully and fully cultivated, the garden produces an extraordinary variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs for the kitchen, alongside an abundance of flowers - including dahlias, roses and sweet peas - grown for elegant arrangements within the house.
A recently created patio, centred around a striking olive tree and completed in 2021, provides a tranquil focal point. It is framed by clematis varieties selected by award-winning grower Sir Raymond Evison, and complemented by beautifully handcrafted benches produced by Creative Learning in Prison.
Beyond its formal beauty, the estate is also a haven for wildlife. In collaboration with La Société Guernesiaise, bird and bat boxes have been thoughtfully installed high within the trees, providing safe roosting sites for local species. Four beehives are nestled within the grounds, their honey harvested for use in the kitchens, while a nearby pollinator patch of Guernsey-native plants ensures a thriving habitat for bees and other insects.
Peaceful, productive and rich in biodiversity, this unique garden offers visitors an inspiring glimpse into both heritage horticulture and contemporary sustainable practices.
