Liberation Day, held each year on 9 May, marks the island’s freedom from German occupation in 1945. It is a day filled with community spirit, remembrance and celebration, as the island comes alive with parades, music and festivities.
To celebrate, head to the Brasserie and Lounge at the OGH for a menu that celebrates the very best of Guernsey produce. Expect a true taste of the island, with much-loved local dishes such as bean jar, freshly caught fish and seafood, and traditional Guernsey gâche.
Enjoy a relaxed lunch between celebrations, gather with friends and family for dinner as the day draws to a close, or simply stop by for a special Liberation Day cocktail in the Crown Club.
