Experience the beauty of the ancient art of Japanese calligraphy and produce your own hand drawn works using traditional methods.

In this beginner-friendly session, you will:

• Learn where Kanji comes from and how it’s used today
• Try the essential tools of Shodo — each person will have their own brush and ink set
• Practise basic brush strokes
• Create your own piece to take home

Course Materials

All high-quality materials are provided, imported directly from Japan:

• Traditional Shodo brushes
• Japanese sumi ink
• Fine calligraphy paper

Price: £60 for two hour workshop - includes hire of Japanese calligraphy sets, papers and ink, take away booklet, and Shikishi cards making.

Discount price £45 for two hours if you bring your own Japanese calligraphy set.
