Experience two fantastic museums after hours: the Guernsey Museum at Candie Gardens and, for the first time, the German Naval Signals HQ both of which are just a short walk from each other. Take advantage of the extra activities that will be on offer, all for free.
What is the German Naval Signals HQ?
The headquarters of the German Naval Commander Channel Islands was established in the nearby La Collinette Hotel in Guernsey, and the Signal HQ was responsible for all radio traffic to and from Germany and the other Islands. It was the last operational Signals HQ that was running up until 9 May 1945, using the Enigma code machines that were being decoded by the staff at Bletchley Park in England (once the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers!)
This event is part of a national initiative to open doors of heritage attractions after hours for free.
