The Guernsey Arts Commission is proud to present Liberation 75: Freedom Not Forgotten, a community project to create a public exhibition as part of Heritage75.
Having asked individuals, community groups and school groups to submit pieces of art in response to the title, the Arts Commission will be using these to create a free, outdoor, public exhibition trail for this commemorative event. The Arts Commission has asked the community to create the artwork which will tell a story about the past, present and future in our home islands.
Head to Candie Gardens between 25th April and 14th June to see it for yourself!
This exhibition will also incorporate poetry works from a pan-island Schools’ Poetry Competition where Guernsey school pupils are being encouraged to write a poem describing what it was like on the Islands of Guernsey during the German Occupation, or a poem in celebration of Liberation. There will also be an adults’ section ad more information is available on this specific project is available on the Pouques website
