In Victor Hugo’s Footsteps

Meet your Gold Accredited Guide Gill Girard alongside Victor Hugo's statue in Candie Gardens before a walk through St Peter Port whilst hearing about his life in Guernsey where he was in political exile for 15 years. Hear how the island inspired him to write some of his most successful works including Les Misérables.

Upon visiting Guernsey, it is hard to ignore the influence that former resident Victor Hugo had upon the island. Statues and monuments are dedicated to his life and works, and his fascinating house in Hauteville (St Peter Port) is one of the island’s most popular attractions.

This walk will finish outside his extraordinary home where a confirmed booking for a tour of the house has been secured by your guide.
