A series of walks about the largest park in Guernsey. Learn about the history, families and the Japanese influence.

‘Sunset in the Castel’ – a quiet evening amble through the little known and infrequently used byways and green lanes between Saumarez Park and Vazon taking in the history and botany on the way. Timed to watch the sunset on route and returning during dusk just as the nocturnal wildlife starts to stir. Meet at Saumarez Park children’s playground car park.

‘The Richness and Variety of the Saumarez Park Trees’ – a look at the rich legacy of trees in the park and their history along with the area concerned. Wheelchair friendly. Meet at Home Farm car park (to the north of back car park).

‘Secrets of Saumarez Park’ – a walk around Saumarez Park focusing on the Saumarez family, architecture, gardens. Discover the link with oriental culture, why there is a Japanese walk, the lost buildings and secret walled garden. Meet outside the residential home at Saumarez Park.
