Unique Wedding Locations in Guernsey

The Islands of Guernsey provide a wonderful choice for your wedding destination with unique venues, exquisite landscapes and beautiful islands all awaiting to welcome you and host your perfect day.

The islands offer everything from grand heritage sites, luxurious hotels, stunning beaches, pristine gardens and terraces overlooking our stunning cliffs and coast.

All that is required is the registered owner’s permission and agreement from your Guernsey celebrant in advance.

Castle Cornet, St Peter Port

Castle Cornet

Stunning Castle Cornet stands guard over St Peter Port harbour and has an ancient history which spans over 800 years. For a memorable wedding and unique photographs, the Castle ticks all the boxes.

Available for both ceremonies and receptions, the Top Lawn of the Castle offers amazing views of St Peter Port town and seascapes. The South Battery captures what it means to have your wedding in a castle, with its centrepiece traversing cannon. Both locations are gorgeous when set out, and wet weather alternatives are available inside should the weather go awry!

Please be aware the Castle has many steps and no lift access.

White House Hotel, Herm

Herm Island

Herm Island is often called a paradise island with its stunning beaches and beautiful surroundings. St Tugal’s Chapel, offers a lovely 11th century venue for your ceremony whilst The White House Hotel is ideal for a reception. Find out more about weddings in Herm here

La Coupée, Sark

Sark 

Sark provides a romantic setting for a wedding with it’s beautiful St Peter’s Church known for it’s wonderful stained glass windows. They have amazing places with stunning views to get married outdoors, including Sark Henge with views towards France and La Coupee which makes you feel like you are on top of the World.

Little Sark provides magnificient views and is a lovely place for a wedding.

Sausmarez Manor

Sausmarez Manor is Guernsey's only Stately Home and is the seat of the de Sausmarez family, who have lived there for 800 years.

Containing original architecture, artifacts and art acquired by members of the family who were privateers, soldiers, adventurers, artists, governors and lots more, the House offers a curious and unique backdrop for wedding ceremonies and photographs.

 

Les Caches Farm

Les Caches Farm

A collection of fine Guernsey farmhouses and outbuildings dating from the 15th Century to mid-19th Century, nestled amongst pastures in the peaceful hamlet of Les Villets.
With a simple layout and beautiful natural light aspect throughout, including a fine vaulted-ceiling at first floor level, the main farmhouse building lends itself well to weddings.

Vale Castle

Vale Castle is an historic site, the remains of which date back to the 15th century. During the Second World War the German occupying forces fortified the Castle and the surrounding area, remains of which can be seen today.

This unique location is perfectly suited if you have your heart set on a marquee or tipi wedding.

The Castle's medieval walls enclose a large grassed space that can accommodate large numbers of guests with gorgeous views of the other Islands out to sea.

Please be aware, for your less-mobile guests, that Vale Castle is accessible via a fairly steep inclined path.

Fort Grey

Fort Grey

Fort Grey is situated along the west coast of Guernsey, standing on the site of the earlier Château de Rocquaine. Completed in 1804, due to its shape, it is affectionately known as the 'Cup and Saucer' and now houses a shipwreck museum.

While receptions aren't available, the site offers a unique backdrop for photos.

Candie Gardens

Candie Gardens and the Guernsey Museum & Galleries

Picturesque Candie Gardens is home to formal public Victorian gardens, Guernsey Museum & Galleries. The location is ideal for an evening wedding reception with drinks and canapés or outside catering.

A terrace area has views of the harbour and St Peter Port, perfect for summer evenings and the Museum boasts fully accessible facilities and caters for small groups up to a capacity of 150 people.

Whilst your guests mingle, they can explore the colourful Victorian Gardens, enjoy the latest museum exhibition or even browse the museum gift shop.

All catering is supplied by dedicated in-house caterers, Sueco Outside Catering, who can be contacted separately to cater to your specifications.

The Islands of Guernsey have stunning beaches which can rival those of the Caribbean. You will find long sandy beaches with the most beautiful turquoise blue sea and secluded coves with dramatic cliff top landscapes providing a perfect backdrop for photographs.
