Plan your summer 2021 escape, to unwind on The Islands of Guernsey. It’s the perfect place for a luxury weekend filled with rest, rejuvenation and a spot of pampering.
There is nothing like escaping to an island for a break filled with scenic walks along the cliffs, spa treatments and a nourishing meal to end the day. For a small island, Guernsey boasts a brilliant selection of quality spas, ideal for a wellness weekend away in a unique location. The beauty of each one is that you are never more than a stroll away from the ocean and a great view. Each spa offers something different, from hot stone massages and hydrating facials to reiki and reflexology treatments. Many also offer, or can point you towards, beach yoga and meditation sessions, beautiful walking/running routes and fitness classes. Whatever your goal for your wellness weekend away, Guernsey has lots to offer for those wanting to relax or re-energise whilst away from it all.
Here is a quick overview of each of the main hotel spa offerings on The Islands:
St Pierre Park Hotel & Spa, Guernsey
St Pierre Park hotel is truly an oasis in the centre of the island. The newly refurbished and award-winning spa boasts a breathtaking new swimming pool, marble steam room, dual aspect volcanic stone sauna, experience showers, five treatment rooms, a relaxation room and stunning views overlooking the lake and grounds. The hotel was awarded 'Best Spa in the Channel Islands' at the prestigious Good Spa Guide 2016 Awards in partnership with Aromatherapy Associates in 2016. Since then, it has grown to be a favourite of islanders looking to escape for an afternoon. The hotel offers many spa packages that include a healthy lunch or an afternoon tea, as well as overnight stays and longer spa breaks.
The OGH Spa is tucked away in St Peter Port
The OGH (as it is affectionately known) was originally the official residence of the island's Governor. It is now Guernsey's only 5 star establishment and is tucked away in the heart of St Peter Port. Just five minutes walk from the lovely and historic St Peter Port Harbour, it's perfect for a luxury break and offers a wide range of excellent value packages throughout the year. Stocks is a haven to escape to
Stocks Hotel is a haven to escape to on the island of Sark. The island itself is a place to truly relax and feel revitalised. A place filled with clean air and stunning views at every turn, it is the ideal place to take a few days out. Stocks don't have a full-service spa as such, but they do boast a wellbeing, massage & reiki treatment room where spa services are offered on demand, as well as small gymnasium. You can easily follow this up with a Sark cream tea and a glass of champagne whilst soaking up the complete tranquility of your island escape. The hotel also has a wonderful outdoor pool to take a dip in or relax next to. For those wanting to take part in wellness activities, there are regular yoga and running clubs each week on the island, and the hotel often hosts unique yoga and wellness weekends alongside local wellness practitioners and yoga teachers.
The Bella Luce is tucked away in the valley
The Bella Luce is a beautiful countryside escape just a stone's throw from Moulin Huet Bay and stunning cliff walks. Tucked away in a valley, hidden in the island lanes, it is the perfect place to escape to. The Bella Spa is an ESPA Spa offering the ultimate in relaxation, with full and half day packages, as well as carefully curated treatments designed to leave you feeling pampered and refreshed, before enjoying a hearty meal at the hotel's excellent restaurant and maybe even try some of their homemade gin, now sold across the world.
