Ask the Wedding Celebrant: Suzy Goode

Suzy Goode from Silver Linings has given us more information about what to expect from her ceremonies and also shares her favourite locations for weddings in the islands.

What is your style/approach as a wedding celebrant?

I help facilitate the couple’s vision and bring fresh ideas to fulfil their dream wedding ceremony. I am open-minded and will ensure the ceremony reflects the couple’s personalities and style throughout. Their story will be told with character, in an engaging and heartfelt way. The couple can include special Unity Elements which symbolise the joining of two souls, which are bespoke to each client.

What is your background?

I was born and raised in Guernsey and attended The Princess Royal Centre of Performing Arts, where I studied performing, storytelling and script writing. After working in finance for 5 years, I set up Silver Linings in 2019. I am a member of The UK Society of Celebrants and after studying with them I gained a Diploma in Family and Funeral Celebrancy.

Do you have a favourite location?

The great thing about Guernsey is there are so many fantastic locations, I believe every couple will find a perfect location to suit them. Personally I think the Castles on the coastlines or idyllic beaches are a great choice as they are so picturesque.

Your top tip for couples considering the Islands of Guernsey as their wedding destination?

I would suggest the couple contact an experienced qualified Guernsey celebrant in the first instance as they will be able to guide them through all the logistics and provide knowledge on the possibilities available to them to ensure their special day is as unique and wonderful as they could possibly hope for.
