How To Get To The Islands of Guernsey

With ongoing expected travel delays to a variety of destinations this summer, you can escape to The Islands of Guernsey with confidence in your journey. And there are two main modes of transport for reaching our archipelago: travelling by plane or by boat. 

When travelling by plane to the Islands there are many UK airports to choose from, with flights taking as little as 40 minutes. Flights are regularly operated by Guernsey's airline Aurigny, as well as other seasonal carriers. If travelling from Europe you can find seasonal flights from European destinations to Guernsey. 

If you are bringing your car, bike or van for your trip to the Islands, Condor Ferries operate boat services from the UK, Jersey and France. 

Once you have arrived in Guernsey, onward boats and flights are available to reach our four smaller islands.

Travel to Guernsey By Air

Flights to Guernsey are quick and easy with departing airports all over the UK and Ireland, taking as little as 40 minutes. Guernsey’s airline, Aurigny, offers flights regular flights to Guernsey from:

  • London Gatwick
  • Manchester
  • East Midlands (seasonal)
  • Bristol
  • Exeter
  • Birmingham
  • Edinburgh (seasonal)
  • Leeds Bradford (seasonal)
  • Southampton
  • Dublin

Aurigny has a partnership with the Worldwide by easyJet network, allowing simple connecting flights from destinations around the world to Guernsey via London Gatwick, so be sure to check their website before booking for a fuss-free journey.

Guernsey's airline codeshares with Blue Islands, based in Jersey, who offer flights to Guernsey from Jersey and the UK, as well as seasonal flights to Europe.

A partnership has been formed with Loganair to offer connections to the North of England and Scotland, with connecting flights. 

You can reach the Islands of Guernsey with British Airways who are also resuming their flights from London City and Edinburgh during the summer months.

With multiple flights a day and short flight times, flying is an efficient way to get to our island paradise. 

Travel to Guernsey By Boat

If you prefer to drive or cycle to Guernsey then there is a regular ferry service from Jersey, the UK and France with Condor Ferries.

Journeys take as little as an hour from Jersey, around 2-3 hours from St Malo and Cherbourg and three hours from Poole on the fast ferry. There is a slower service from Portsmouth, which can take 6-8 hours, with overnight ferries available.

You can reach Guernsey from France via the Manche-Iles Express, with several departure points along the Normandy coast.
