The Victor Hugo Experience
Les Miserables author, Victor Hugo, made St Peter Port his home for 15 years and the views from his hilltop home, Hauteville House, inspired some of his best known works. Follow in his footsteps and start writing your own story.
With its mild, sub tropical climate, the Bailiwick of Guernsey is the ideal place for flora lovers. With 449 known varieties of flowers and plants in January alone and many uncommon in the UK, visitors are sure to be charmed by the sights and smells of these floral islands.
Make your way up and around the Model Yacht Pond to the lighthouse, and then spend an hour or two exploring Castle Cornet. Decorative gardens, turrets and sea views and not forgetting the magnificent noon-day gun! From here head to the beach in the centre of town overlooking the castle before dive-bombing in the pools.
If you just can't get enough of putting on a pair of boots and trekking through fascinating and beautiful surroundings, you will simply love this taster of walking in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Taking in the hustle and bustle of Town, lush forests, dramtic coastline and some of the most breah-taking views that you'll see anywhere in the British Isles. There's a piece of history around almost every corner.
