The 2016 Guernsey International Food Festival is sponsored by Channel Islands Co-Operative, Cimandis, Condor Ferries, First Central Group and Nova Wealth.
"As the Channel Island’s leading food wholesaler, Cimandis are proud of our ongoing support of the Guernsey International Food Festival and the hospitality industry of the island. Through sponsoring Restaurant Week, we’ll be showcasing both amazing local produce and international flavours, and we’re also really excited to be on stage with the Live Food Show and Beach BBQ Cook Off with the Cimandis Kitchen Cupboard that will literally be overflowing with tasty produce for the chefs to play with. The festival provides not only an ideal platform to showcase our products to the industry – and support the brilliant on-going work of the hundreds of Guernsey chefs that we work with on a day-to-day basis – but also means the best food from all over the world is accessible to us all here in the Channel Islands.” – Dave Chalk, MD, Cimandis
"At First Central Group we promote and encourage the personal growth and development of our staff; we have a strong ‘wellbeing in the workplace’ policy which includes helping our staff make healthy eating choices. Wellbeing activities such as yoga or gardening are on offer to our team each month, our kitchen is constantly busy with staff using the office nutribullet and a token scheme with rewards is in place to encourage our employees to bike to work. Fantastic food can also be good for you and we aim to bring this wellbeing and healthy eating focus to the Guernsey International Food Festival, staff will be taking part in a five-minute healthy eating challenge and will blend delicious smoothies using their pedal power in the Big Guernsey Market." - Mike Leonard, Deputy Group CEO
"When the Guernsey International Food Festival (GIFF) debuted last year it mirrored others that I have attended in different countries, including the Cayman Islands, where we have another office also. As the company is full of self confessed foodies (and drinkies!), we immediately knew that if the opportunity arose to be able to sponsor the GIFF, we would jump at the chance. As such, we are delighted to be one of the main sponsors this year.By sponsoring and supporting local industry through GIFF, we are able to help in spreading the word of the amazing quality of local produce from land and sea together with Guernsey’s culinary heritage and great restaurant scene. The international chef exchange event, where Craig Jones from Cap Maison in St Lucia is visiting Guernsey and matching up with Simon McKenzie from the OGH (and vice versa in February next year) is particularly exciting as it really does give Guernsey as an island, and Simon as a chef, the forum to showcase how good the Guernsey food scene is. As an aside I have eaten at both restaurants, and without being Guernsey biased, I think Simon may show Craig from St Lucia a thing or two! So, whether it’s local beef from Jason Hamon at Red, local lobster at Octopus, or an artisanal Wheadon’s Gin at the Bella Luce, Guernsey and its food and drink matches up to the rest of the world, and we are proud to be able to help spread the word further." - Ross Preston, Nova Wealth Ltd
"The Guernsey International Food Festival will bring together the finest Channel Islands' produce alongside international cuisine of the highest standard. The Big Guernsey Market, Guernsey Restaurant Week, Beach BBQ Cook Off and the numerous live cookery demonstrations will all offer opportunities to showcase fantastic dishes from the islands and around the world. As a passionate supporter of growers, farmers and producers, The Channel Islands Co-operative Society chose to support the festival as we believe it will celebrate the amazing range of top quality food and drink that can be found across the islands – something we are also proud to do. As a locally-owned business, we are committed to ensuring that we have a range of local products, which includes dairy, fruit, vegetables, salad, herbs, alcohol, coffee and bakery products, and last year alone, we paid £11m. to more than 40 local suppliers." - Greg Yeoman, chief marketing officer, The Channel Islands Co-operative Society.
